Biography

Fernando Aguilar, AIA is the Chief Operating Officer at Lopez Salas Architects and a licensed LEED accredited architect with 27+ years of experience. With his extensive experience in renovation, new construction, and master planning, he plays a key role on all projects. His diverse experience includes higher education, K-12, municipal, commercial, retail and healthcare facilities. Fernando also provides quality control oversight and management of the LSA design production team, facilitates the permitting and approval process, and performs other upper management functions to assist the firm President.

For Fernando, architecture is designing a structure or a place that creates a positive and memorable impression in people’s lives – it involves listening and responding to a need and making it a better environment.

Fernando received a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from UT in 1989. He has been a licensed architect in the State of Texas since 2000. Fernando is a LEED AP accredited architect and certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certification (NCARB).
