RPM Hospital Cardiac Rehab Addition

Phase 3.5 of a five year program between the McKinstry/Lopez Salas Design-Build team and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Lopez Salas Architects provided architectural and interior design for a new Cardiac Rehab addition to the existing hospital totaling 7,200 square feet.

The new facility houses a large rehab room, weight training room, doctor’s offices, patient locker rooms with showers/restrooms, and ADA accessible entry ramps. This was our third project for Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

RPM Hospital Phase 4 Additions & Renovations

Complete Interior Renovation and Addition of Labor and Delivery wing and new MRI Facility between the McKinstry/Lopez Salas Design Build Team. Architectural and interior design for 31,122 square feet of building additions and renovations to the existing Hospital. Renovations included new interior finishes of the OR and corridors (7,865 SF); complete interior renovation of the Intensive care unit (4,978 SF); design of a new addition for a labor/delivery wing (10,288 SF); design of a new Northwest entry (6,159 SF) and design of a new 3,894 SF Dialysis building.

Phase 4 includes:

    • New Dialysis center, allowing patients to receive treatment several times a week close to home
    • Labor and delivery renovation, including suites and a dedicated operating room
    • Complete renovation and upgrade of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
    • New third operating room as part of the surgery center renovation
    • New onsite MRI facility
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible hospital entry
    • Renovation of the entire IT system

Upon completion, Phase 4 will save the hospital more than $13,000 per year through heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) improvements; an energy management control system; lighting improvements; and rain water reclamation. Combined improvements across all phases are expected to offer savings of $175,000 annually.

RPM Hospital Renovations

Design services to four wings of the hospital were performed to conform to ADA compliance regulations and upgrade equipment with more energy-efficient systems. Interior renovations totaled 20,500 square feet and were provided to 52 rooms that included 43 private patient rooms that included two isolation rooms, ADA compliant bathrooms with showers, 2 offices, storage and supply rooms, one doctor’s office, new nourishment room, nurses break room, locker rooms, clean and soiled utilities, waiting room and central main nurses station serving the four connecting wings.
