San Antonio Surgical Arts

Architectural and interior design for a new 4,660 square foot one-story medical office complex clinic that specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The facility houses a reception/waiting area, five ADA accessible operating/exam rooms, recovery room, X-ray room, doctor’s and administrative offices, a conference/lounge area, kitchen/pantry, supply and file storage rooms, patient restrooms, mechanical room, medical gas closet, and 50 space parking lot.

Sustainable and energy-saving design features included clerestory windows for natural light, energy-efficient HVAC systems, 1″ insulated low-heat glazing, great care to use local materials, and installation of an energy star roof.

Focal Point Vision

Lopez Salas Architects provided architectural and interior architectural design services for a new 6,200 square foot opthamology office specializing in corneal surgery. Designed in a Hacienda style, Focal Point Vision is part of the Hacienda de Salud medical development located in the Medical Center on Hamilton Wolfe. The La Hacienda de Salud arose out of a desire to provide a connection between the Mexican architectural past and an environment of wellness, healing and health. The building houses exam rooms, an operating room, medical and administrative offices.

Vision Source Optometry Offices

Architectural and interior design services for a new 5,934 square foot one-story professional office building for new Optometry offices and retail spaces. The building incorporates multiple exam rooms, labs, lens fitting areas, optical lab, storage area, visual field testing areas, doctor’s offices, conference room, reception area and waiting room and retail area that displays glasses and other optical specialties for their patients. The parking lot is equipped with 21 parking spaces and 2 handicapped spaces.

The structure was designed with a stucco exterior and features a clerestory atrium over lobby and retail display spaces. the building was designed and sited to allow for the future expansion and additions of structures.

New Braunfels Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Architectural and interior design for a new 6,500 square foot one-story orthopaedic clinic in New Braunfels that specializes in sport-related injuries. The facility houses ADA accessible exam rooms, doctor’s and administrative offices, supply and storage rooms.

Hill Country Ear, Nose and Throat

Architectural and interior design services for a new 5,041 square foot single story Medical Office Building. the building houses multiple exam and treatment rooms, a nurses station, specialized rooms to test hearing and treat allergies, a pediatrics exam room, doctor’s and administrative offices, file storage, patient and staff restrooms, and a spacious reception and waiting area.

Sustainable and energy-saving design features included clerestory windows for natural light, energy-efficient HVAC systems, 1″ insulated low-heat glazing, and installation of an Energy Star roof.

Seymour Hospital Phase 3 Renovation/Addition

Architectural and interior design for a 6,620 square foot renovation and 3,690 square foot office area addition to an existing hospital. Features of the one-story hospital facility include an admissions area and waiting room, emergency room, multiple treatment rooms, ultrasound room, patient restrooms, blood lab, casting room, isolation room, nurses station, administrative offices, medical gas closet, medical storage areas and a cafe/gift shop.

Seymour Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Center

Architectural and interior design for state-of-the-art cardiac rehabilitation center that features physical, occupational and cardiac therapy in one location.

  • 8,980 square feet of total space, renovating 3,000 square feet of existing space and adding 5,980 square feet
  • A central Cardiac Wellness Center and therapy pool
  • Integrated physical, occupational and cardiac therapy resources for streamlined care
  • Multiple treatment rooms and a training room
  • Aerobics room overlooking Seymour City Park
  • Walking tracking, allowing patients to exercise under medical supervision
  • Occupational therapy resources that allow patients to practice everyday tasks

Other features of the facility include new administrative offices, a kitchen and doctor’s lounge, men’s and women’s locker rooms and restrooms.

Haskell Memorial Hospital E/R & Urgent Care Additions

Architectural and interior design for 5,377 square foot ER and urgent care addition and 3,579 square foot of hospital renovations. New additions include a four-bed emergency room and walk-in clinic, plus renovated radiology, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy and laboratory areas.

The E/R and urgent care addition consists of a new emergency room with walk-in clinic with state-of-the-art equipment including a new CT scan machine. Features include a covered emergency entryway, intake area, multiple urgent care rooms, triage and treatment rooms, nurses station, scrub station, patient restrooms, treatment/casting room, patient dressing rooms, laundry room, medical storage are, and reception area.

Phase I of the energy Savings Performance Contract consisted of HVAC, mechanical, lighting ans water conservation measures to conserve energy performed solely by McKinstry. The total cost of the additions & renovations plus Phase I incentives cost $8.4 million with about $1 million of the money going towards new medical equipment. Funding for the project came from a reserve fund as well as grant money obtained. In addition, the hospital issued about 3 million dollars in bonds that they will pay back over the next 15-20 years.

RPM Hospital Medical Office Building

LSA provided architectural and interior design services to a new 17,500 square foot one-story medical office building that houses 5 doctor’s suites with individual nurses stations, exam rooms and private restroom facilities.

The structure includes 3 break rooms, 4 lab/medical storage rooms, and a large public restroom in the main hallway. The building boasts a unique octagonal-shaped entryway and a mediclaim service area that provides convenient insurance facilitation by all practicing doctors in the building. Twenty-seven parking spaces were added to supplement the existing parking lot.
