Lopez Salas Architects provided interior design and finish-out of the new 58,373 square foot H2Oaks Center Operations/Visitor Center including the lobby/reception area with its massive water-themed art wall, offices, main entry and corridor, public restrooms, multi-use conference room/auditorium, storage, audio/visual room, serving and prep kitchen, break room and public relations office. The facility includes a central operations command center, multiple offices, research and development, large conference room, and plant operations equipment rooms. The center functions as an educational, research, and meeting facility for SAWS, local universities and school districts. It is designed to be a learning tool to all age groups with free tours of informative displays about water conservation and how the plant functions.

SAWS Brackish Groundwater Desalination Plant produces 12 million gallons of clean water per day from 3 different sources, enough to supply 53,000 households.  The plant is located at the existing SAWS Twin Oaks Aquifer Storage and Recovery site located in Wilson County.
